My husband and I celebrated our birthdays at The Chemistry Room in NYC and it was our 3rd visit. We brought our closest friends and it was such a beautiful and fun experience! Our friends had never tried Omakase and we were delighted to introduce them to this amazing experience. Our birthday is in December and we went on Dec 21, 2024 so you know the holiday and tourist traffic was madness! We'd originally booked the entire bar for 7 of us, but traffic made it impossible for most of us (us included) to get there on time. We kept in touch with The Chemistry Room while on the road to give them updates on our ETA and they suggested we switch to a large table instead. Although we tried to make it, we agreed to change seating and honestly it was the best idea because of how intimate it was and how awesome it was to see everyone's faces as they experienced Omakase for the 1st time. Thank you so much to Chef and the amazing staff. We truly enjoyed ourselves and we can't wait to come back. By the way, the food was SUPERB. As always!

Chemistry Room is delicious! Came here for restaurant week with a group of friends. From the first course till end of dessert, everything was scrumptious. The sushi is very fresh and the omakase did not disappoint. This place is rather on the expensive side but worth it for quality sushi. The restaurant has a very chill and low key vibe. The service was top notch as well.

An absolutely outstanding dining experience at The Chemistry Room! We had the countertop omakase dinner, and everything from start to finish was exceptional. The chef was incredibly kind and engaging, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. The ambiance was inviting, allowing us to fully enjoy the artistry of each dish. The food itself was the perfect balance of taste and presentation—every course was beautifully crafted and bursting with flavor. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-tier omakase experience!

Had a delicious sushi meal here. Sampled 17 different pieces of sushi with their dinner omakase option. All were very tasty with my favorite being the first piece of golden eye red snapper. The pieces were brought out quickly one after another, took about 60 minutes from start to dessert. Food was prepared right in front of you when sitting at the bar. It’s a nice sushi spot one block from crazy Times Square.

The Chemistry Room is a sushi sanctuary hidden just steps from Times Square chaos. I did the omakase at the bar, and every bite felt like a love letter from the sushi gods—delivered personally by a chef who looked like Ryu from Street Fighter and had the humility of a monk. Each piece was butter-soft and beautifully crafted, but the sea scallop? That one’s living rent-free in my brain forever. To top it off, the sushi master poured me a taste of his best sake—on the house. That little gesture sealed the deal. No, you won’t leave full (I snagged a 1.50 slice on the walk back), but you will leave changed. This isn’t dinner—it’s a culinary dojo where flavor trains in silence and emerges victorious. 5/5 experience. Book the bar, bow to the chef, and prepare for sushi enlightenment.

We had an amazing Omakase experience here and will definitely return on our next trip to NYC. The staff was so attentive, and the sushi was...WOW!!! Seriously, I still think about this meal!!

Beautifully decorated and very welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. Very genuinely friendly staff and attentive. Sushi chefs did a very good job of describing each item in detail and very easy to converse with. Almost all of their fish is imported from Japan very delicious good quality and fresh. I have recommended this place to some of my Japanese friends and they say it is almost as good as eating an Omakase dinner in actual Japan. I plan on dining here again in the future for sure.
